Esperance Community Mental Health

As part of the Goldfields SE region of the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – Esperance Community Mental Health Services are provided for people of all ages with an identifiable mental health problem which is affecting their ability to function in everyday living within the Shires of Esperance, Raventhorpe and Dundas. These include: anxiety, Depression, Suicidal thoughts, attempts at Suicide, Eating Disorders, Acute transient psychosis, Schizophrenia, Biopolar, substance abuse.

Community based mental health services in the country areas have clinics and centres that have professional staff including psychiatrists, social workers, mental health nurses, clinical psychologists and occupational therapists to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing support

Goldfields Community, Alcohol and Drug Services/Hope Community Services

The Esperance office offers counselling and diversion services and provides education for prevention in the community. Hope’s Esperance team has extended the reach of its services in the south, providing outreach as far as Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe, Offers Drug Diversion Programs and Cannabis Intervention as well as counselling, information and education sessions and family support groups.

GCADS is funded by the Mental Health Commission of Western Australia and is the result of a partnership between Hope Community Services and Bega Garnbirringu Health Services Inc.
